About Us - Our Team

Matt Ellis, Managing Director

Matthew Ellis, joined our sister company, Executive Network Sales Ltd in 1999, after running his own recruitment business and became M.D in 2002. He has been in recruitment for a total of 14 years. He became Managing Director of The HSE Recruitment Network in 2004 and has worked closely with the recruitment team to make them the largest Health & Safety Recruiter in the UK. In his spare time, Matt is a very keen golfer, entering competitions nationwide.





Nicola Wolverson

Nicola spent 10 years working as an Account Manager in the Manufacturing industry before moving into recruitment with a global IT Recruitment company in the mid 1990's. Nicola joined us in 2003, and has played a key role in establishing and developing a significant number of accounts in the construction and utilities sectors. Nicola is now responsible for contract HSE positions across the Oil/Gas, Utilities, Construction and Rail sectors for the whole of the UK and overseas.

Nicola relocated to Mexico earlier in her career and has danced competitively on the international salsa circuit.

Chris Rowlands

Chris graduated with a degree in Economics from one of the UK's top business schools and spent the following 2 years working across the UK and Europe for a large utilities company, specialising in commodity trading and business development. Chris then entered the recruitment market with an executive search company who specialised in the legal and accountancy professions before finding his home in the Health & Safety market. Chris has amassed 6 years recruitment experience in total, holds Membership status with the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, and specialises in the recruitment of permanent positions within the Construction and Rail industries.

Jenny Legay-McKinley

Jenny joined The HSE Recruitment Network in the summer of 2006 and is now a committed and valued member to the team. She manages all administration and workings with HSE and is the vital cog in the expansion plans of HSE in the future. Her commercial ability comes from a successful sales background within the oil industry.

Away from work Jenny is actively involved in the greyhound industry and is often at various UK venues cheering on some of her jointly owned greyhounds. She also provides a luxury lifestyle and cares for a number of retired greyhounds. In addition she intends to pass her driving test soon and have this sentence removed from the web site!!

Siobhan Oerlemans

Siobhan joined the HSE Recruitment Network in early 2006 after completing a Law degree at the University of Birmingham. She now has over a year’s recruitment experience in the health and safety industry and works in the contract division specialising in the public sector, successfully recruiting for central and local government, NHS organizations and educational establishments. Prior to moving to the UK Siobhan lived in the Netherlands and Indonesia, and when she gets the chance, loves to visit European and international destinations. Siobhan is also a black belt so watch out!!


Zoe Adkins

Zoe has worked within commercial recruitment and before that marketing for a number of years both within the UK and New Zealand. She joined The HSE Recruitment Network at the beginning of 2008 as part of our permanent division and specialises in recruiting safety professionals within Manufacturing, Charities and Public Sector organisations across the UK. She has developed a wide Network within these areas and is a successful and concientious specialist recruiter. Zoe thrives on providing the best service to both candidates and clients alike.
In her spare time she enjoys exploring different countries and cultures and is curretly learning Spanish. She is a keen surfer and has taken part in a number of fund raising days. Zoe is REC qualified



Stephen Brandsma

I am pleased to now be with the UK's leading HSE Recruitment specialist and am looking forward to expanding the company's excellent reputation across the borders. I will be focusing initially on the North Africa, Middle East and Western European regions, however our expectation is that this will quickly expand globally. In these early stages we are looking first and foremost at building our network of clients, and most importantly candidates who are or may be interested in an opportunity internationally. Philip Battle

Phil graduated in 2003 with a Business Studies degree and started his recruitment career in 2004. For the past 6 years Phil has been a technical recruiter focused mainly with the Oil & Gas and Energy sectors. He has spent time working in specialist contract, permanent and search functions recruiting for upstream and downstream O&G markets as well as extensive work in the renewables and energy sectors. Phil is a qualified REC member and joined the HSE Recruitment Network in May to focus on Energy sectors including Power Generation, Oil & Gas, Renewables, Nuclear and Utilities. In his spare time Phil is a keen Martial Artist, having trained Karate for more than 20 years.

 

Laura Cleaver

Laura studied Philosophy at the University of Birmingham before joining the HSE team as a Contract Consultant working on the Construction & Utilities sectors. She enjoys music - the louder the better! - and is passionate about 70's rock and roll. She also plays the drums and sings when she can. She likes to socialise and is a voracious reader, and is hoping to tread the boards with Zoe at a local amateur dramatics group in the near future.
