HSQE Manager – Electrical Engineering
£50,000 + Car / Car Allowance
My client are a rapidly growing Electrical Engineering design & build contractor with exciting growth plans to double headcount, and more than double turnover in the next 3 years. They work across a wide range of industry sectors, and deliver services across the full life cycle of a project, from feasibility studies and design through to installation and commissioning. Due to this ongoing expansion, they are looking to recruit a HSQE Manager to join the team.
Reporting directly into the Managing Director, and being the most senior Safety professional in the business, the incoming HSQE Manager will play a big role in designing, implementing and managing the entire HSEQ offering across the company. The initial focus of the role will be to take lead responsibility for management of the Integrated Management System as a tool to deliver the company objectives. In addition to this, you will be involved in site inspections & safety tours, participating in risk assessments, managing internal and external audits, and being responsible for drafting and maintaining and robust set of policies and procedures.
To be considered for the role of HSQE Manager, you will need to have the following skills & experience:
• 5 Years + experience of HSQE Management within an Engineering, Construction, Utilities, Built Environment sector
• Expert knowledge of building an IMS compliant with ISO 9001, 1400, 45001
• Relevant Built Environment / HSQE qualifications
• NEBOSH qualifications such as General, Construction, Environmental or equivalent
• Excellent written communicator, with experience of drafting HSQE policies & procedures
• Full UK driving license
• Flexible, can-do attitude required to continue the success of a growing business
The HSQE Manager role will be given lots of autonomy and support from the Board to be successful. Flexible / home working is supported, but the ability to get into the Derby office as required is essential. A basic salary circa £50k is provided along with a company car or car allowance. With an anticipated doubling of headcount over the next 3 years, expansion of the HSQE department is expected, so the ability and willingness to head a team is required.
