Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 per annum

A fast paced, growing and profitable Retail Group is seeking an Environmental focused, EHS Manager, to be based at their head office in Liverpool. This will be your main base with a potential for adhoc travel to their retail/ distribution sites, dependant on operational requirements. Their sites are spread across the UK with further 50 stores opening next year.

This is a corporate company with a family feel, you will have full autonomy, reporting to the Group Safety Director. You will be able to put your own stamp on environmental safety and they welcome innovative ideas to help proactively manage safety across the group.

Main Responsibilities:
• Ensure a safe workplace environment across the group without risk to EHS, ensuring adherence and regular review and communication of all environment, health and safety policies, procedures and standards
• Be the group level expert on environmental management, root cause analysis and waste compliance and safety management
• Ensure the company meets its statutory obligations in all areas of environmental safety and has appropriate preventative and responsive measures in place
• Develop and enhance environmental risk assessments for all aspects of the business
• Ensure accidents are documented and investigated as appropriate, any identified improvements are implemented and followed up on
• Ensure that a planned programme of safety inspections and audits is carried out, site based employees are aware of their responsibilities and take ownership/ feel accountable
• Ensure documented the EHS Safety Management Systems are accurately updated and maintained and that legislative requirements are met
• Organise and carry out training and ensure that any statutory requirements are met throughout the business

Essential Experience, Training and Qualifications:-
• Degree in with Environmental Health bias
• NEBOSH Diploma as a minimum
• IEMA Membership
• Waste compliance and safety experience
• Understanding of the following ISO standards, ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and ISO 45001
