HSE Recruitment have been engaged by a growing logistics and courier business who are going through a really exciting time as a business. We are supporting them to hire a Safety Team Manager/Advisor for their site in Hatfield, a site which is about to go through a very positive period of change. If you are a Health and Safety Advisor, Officer or Coordinator who is ready to take on a site of your own or a new challenge then this could be the role for you.

This is a key site within the company and one that is integral to the UK Operation. This is a site which is going through a massive improvement project and is under the direction of a very well respected General Manager with a reputation for elevating sites in the company and he wants Safety to be a part of that improvement.

You will be responsible for the Safety department on a busy logistics sorting centre with around 300 staff. This is a standalone role with an admin support. The main risks on site include work place transport, manual handling, pushing and pulling of cages. You are the frontline safety support for the operational management teams ensuring that the site operates safely, with minimum or no disruption, with both colleague and agency staff, inducted and trained in accordance with company processes and procedures.

Tasks will include; training, improving the induction process and delivering these, creating and improving risk assessments and method statements and accident and near miss investigations to name a few. Overall you will ensure compliance with company standards and the company policies and procedures, providing the GM with the support, guidance and confidence that the site has strong and robust safety processes in hand.

Person Specification:

• NEBOSH Certificate
• Parcel experience would be advantageous but other logistics, warehousing or distribution experince would also be consider
• Experince with a similar level role is essential
• We are looking someone who is proactive, a go getter and confident being a visible and active presence on site
• You will have a mature attitude, demonstrate resilient and be able to have those difficult conversations
• Trustworthy

Salary for this role is up £32,000
