Sustainability Manager – East Midlands – FTC

£50,000 - £55,000 + Benefits

My client is one of the UK’s leading utility providers. They employ over 4,000 staff across the country, and deliver energy to over 10 million homes and business. They currently have a requirement for a Sustainability Manager to join the team on a fixed term contract basis until October 2021.

Reporting into the Safety & Sustainability Director, this role will sit on the management team, and will involve communicating the newly developed Sustainability strategy across key stakeholders in the Executive Team and other senior people across the business. You will be driving engagement across team managers, identifying departments that have gaps, and working with teams to integrate the Sustainability strategy into their daily roles. You will be writing papers and reports, delivering to the Board as required. This is a home based position, but will involve occasionally meetings in the West and East Midland offices

To be considered for the Sustainability Manager role, you will need to have the following skills and experience:
• Deep understanding of Sustainability from a technical (legislation / policy) perspective
• Demonstrable knowledge of Sustainability reporting requirements
• Ability to articulate strategy across Heads of Departments and Board of Directors
• Strong written communication skills with a history of producing reports and papers
• Articulate, engaging leader who can build relationships quickly
• Experience in an Energy / Utilities / Power environment an advantage but not essential
• Able to start work in February
• Willing to work full time until the end of the FTC in October

In return, a basic salary of between £50-55k is on offer, along with an excellent benefits package that includes matched pension up to 6%, bonus scheme of up to 15% of salary and 25 days annual leave.
