A fantastic opportunity has come up to work for a Global Chemical Manufacturing company at their flagship site in Northamptonshire as their Senior Health Safety and Environmental Advisor. This site requires an experienced health and safety officer or coordinator to ensure safety, compliance and continued movement towards a self-sustaining safety culture is happening and driven on a daily basis.

This company have a wonderful ethos, a real family feel and really try to support their local community and ensure they are doing everything they can environmentally. Its set on a very diverse site that has the mixture of acres of green fields with a chemical manufacturing plant.

This role has the balance of requiring the technical expertise of a health and safety professional but also the softer skills of a motivated, team player who knows how to influence and move forward a culture that requires engagement at a levels.

This is an all-encompassing health and safety position, where you will need to be self-sufficient, however you will have support from a Group SHE Manager initially .

You will be responsible for managing the lower tier COMAH regulations that the site falls under ensuring the site is adhering to all company and regulatory requirements. You will work to improve the culture by driving a behavioural safety programme, lead on all risk assessments, investigate accidents and root cause analysis. You will manage all contractors on site ensure they understand their responsibilities and that the wider business have their training up to date.

Essential qualifications and experience :-

• NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) is desired but NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) is also consider with the right experience.

• Manufacturing experience, especially chemical manufacturing, COSHH and chemical handling – (COMAH is desirable)

• Behavioural safety / cultural change experience.
