Health and Safety Coordinator - Henlow

My client is currently looking for a hardworking, team player to begin their Safety career with them. This "family feel" client engages in enabling works, demolition & ground remediation. If you have a real passion for Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality, this could be the next step for you.

In this office based role, the right candidate will be positioned to support the HSEQ Manager assisting in coordinating, planning, auditing and administering the day to day requirements of the company. The role includes the undertaking of general administration duties for the upkeep of and running of various management systems and standards including the updating of policies, procedures, records, audits, investigations. With the overall focus on delivering high standard in safety, environment and quality in all that we do supported by our policy of continuous improvement.

Please note you must have strong IT skills for this role.

Duties to include:

 Understanding of HSE Legislation including acts, regulations, approved codes of practice and best practice.

 Excellent reporting and presentation skills

 Excellent administrative duties including document control and updating

 Implement and maintain the company's Integrated Management System (recently achieved ISO9001:2015, ISO14001:2015 and ISO45001 (last May) by ensuring that the filing of documents is kept up to date, creating new files, scanning and archiving document and saving documents to the shared drive

 Undertake risk assessments as required & ensure that existing risk assessments are reviewed & linked to the relevant safe systems of work

 Keeping training matrix up to date and arrange training as required

 Compile HSE project files for site

 Maintaining PPE and HSE supplies

 Ensuring fire risk assessment is updated

 Ensuring close out of HSE inspections (client and internal)

 Maintaining Site and office Fire Extinguishers

 Carrying out internal audits

 Ensure that all accidents, major incidents, property damage incidents, near misses & visits by regulatory authorities, are recorded correctly & in a timely manner, using the company safety database system

 Ensure that all contractors working on site are "approved", have been vetted & have submitted the correct up to date documentation

 Ensure compliance with Regulations relating to UK and other legislation

 Drive a positive proactive safety culture throughout and promote exceptional safety behaviour & culture
