Are you an experienced Health & Safety Officer who is looking for a flexible role with hours to suit around your life and commitments. You have the opportunity to join a Leicestershire based local authority with approximately 300 employees with responsibilities for housing, sports and parks, environmental health, parking, lifeline services. The authority main office is in Leicestershire and candidates can be considered anywhere in the East Midlands. The role requires 18 hours per week and home working with maximum flexibility with hours and work location.

Role responsibilities include:

Updating and maintaining authority policies and procedures

RIDDOR Reporting

Delivering health, safety and well-being training


DSE Assessments

Customer caution procedures

Stress Management

The successful Corporate Health & Safety Officer will have the following experience and qualifications:

IOSH Membership

NEBOSH Diploma or BSc in Occupational Safety & Health

Previous local authority or public sector experience

Proven ability to work autonomously and demonstrate ownership of management responsibilities
