"I approached HSE recruitment network a couple of years ago when I was looking at branching out from being a Respiratory Pharmaceutical Analyst to becoming an EHS Adviser, at the time I was told that to be taken seriously within the industry I would have to take myself away and complete the NEBOSH general safety Cert. A few years past before I could get the opportunity to complete this hurdle, and the dream melted in to the background. Until there was a wind of change sweeping through the company, and I was fortuitous enough to be placed on the 2 week residential course, after a very nervous few weeks waiting for the results I was managed to gain a distinction.
I made contact with the HSE recruitment network once again this time at a webinar for EHS careers via the Safety Health Practitioner online website, where Laura was doing introductions. A week or so later Laura called me to touch base and review my CV, and see what I was looking for and geographical location. I received a call a couple of days later, which went matched my requirements almost to the ‘T’ pay, role, location.
As this was going to be my first interview for this type of role, and the first interview I had attended in 11 years I was somewhat nervous, but Laura was on hand to talk me through what I needed to do and how to go about preparing and answering, as well as the style of questions that might be asked!!! Laura was even on hand to discuss the appropriateness of my attire for the interview, so all in all really helped prepare me for the interview. After the first interview we had a chat around expectations and what I thought, I was surprised to receive a call in the following few days from Laura saying I had been called back for second round of interviews. And once again Laura approached the second interviews with the same level of professionalism she had coached me with for the first. Needless to say I was very nervous and Laura managed to ease my conscience and talk me through how to respond to the different interviewers and what sort of styles to expect and some scenario’s of what might happen.
It is fair to say that with out Laura’s expert knowledge of the industry or her contacts, professionalism and support I wouldn’t of been able to say I got the role!!! Not only that at a salary expectation I thought to be fair was a bit out of my reach and what’s more helped me attain a dream role that I have been training / gaining experience for over the last 11 years!!! I will definitely be using Laura in the future, and would definitely recommend Laura and the HSE network for budding and existing EHS Advisors.
